I’m so thankful I got to practice officiating on the beach with such an intimate group of family. Matt & Lisa, lifelong friends who live right off the beach in Encinitas, hosted Nicole’s wedding preparation in their adorable beach house. Nicole’s sister Natalie was our hair and make-up artist, creating a bride glowing with natural beauty! The guys spent the morning with the groom and we all circled up on the beach to join Epi & Nicole in marriage. We couldn’t have been more blessed as Chelsea Nicole was capturing a family wedding in Cali the same weekend & she agreed to join us! (Side note… Chelsea is like a ray of sunlight! She radiates joy and her heart is one of the kindest I’ve ever met. AND she is an absolutely fabulous photographer. I have a feeling she’ll be a part of our journey for life! Love you Chelsea, Jayse & Bella)
Back to the wedding and ‘this bespoke heart’… some of my favorite moments from that first officiation are the ‘Love’ poem by Ray Croft, it reminds me of the beauty a couple discovers when they live as a team… sharing a letter written by the groom in honor of the family as our circle of love expanded… the ‘blessing of the hands’ to celebrate the gift the bride and groom give to one another as they build a life together… the ‘ring warming’ which invites each family member to offer a blessing over the couple as their wedding rings are passed around the circle… and last but certainly not least, our family “First Dance” on one of God’s most beautiful dance floors!
And the dream becomes a reality as ‘this bespoke heart’ is now a wedding officiant!
